After a long trek from San Diego and all over, we made it to Maryhill, and all of the sleepless nights of driving and driving some more were 100% worth it.
It was nuts today, marking the beginning of the Festival of Speed with a freeride session to introduce and reacquaint everyone with the hill. It started off ridiculously hot, and everyone was sweating buckets in their leathers at the top of the glorious, golden hill in lovely Goldendale, WA. Then that infamous wind picked up, making the monstrous windmills above us go crazy and made for a perfect tailwind to make the runs even more gnarly as riders shot through the curves.
Run after run saw riders gracefully tackling the historical techinical turns of Maryhell. With only a handful of injuries, everyone has headed back to let the nighttime festivities begin while we wait for tomorrow, when qualifying runs begin. We just have a few photos to stoke you out for now, but there will be more to come for sure! Sorry for the sparseness… The service here is spotty, I’m sure you can imagine…
